MEXICO: Calderón worries about law and order

The president-elect, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, admitted on 16 November, that current levels of violence in Mexico were "alarming". He was speaking after five policemen and an official from the state attorney general's office were ambushed and killed in Michoacán on 14 November but before a prison mutiny in the same state ended with four lawyers and one prisoner dead on 18 November.
